odmeister 0 Posted March 19, 2001 I'm new to using IR films. These are my first attempts. I'm looking for some constructive critiques on how to better expose IR. See my other IR photos in my portfolio. Thanks Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 19, 2001 Looking at this I wonder if you meant for the center to be so bright and the sides so dark or was the original scene like this? Also, did you set the focus ring for IR or did you do a normal daylight focus adjustment? Link to comment
odmeister 0 Posted March 19, 2001 That's the way the scene was. I had the focus ring on the IR mark. I had the film rated at IE200. I didn't know what to expect. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 20, 2001 Well, it's all part of the fun with IR. Try different ISO settings, etc and take plenty of notes. :) One more question, was the print made by a lab or was it handprinted? IR can be dull with machine prints but a good printer can make them just explode to life! Link to comment
odmeister 0 Posted March 20, 2001 The print was done by a lab. I don't have the space to set up a dark room. Link to comment
gene crumpler 0 Posted March 22, 2001 Here is a great resource on IR; http://www.pauck.de/archive/mailinglist/infrared/mhonarc/idx_thread1.html#11812 I'd also recommend Larie White's Book on Infared Photography. Link to comment
kasigi 0 Posted July 28, 2001 I rather like this photo - good job! The image has a good sense of mystery to it. I can't really make many comments on the exact exposure from the print but so far it looks good. Couple of questions - 1) what film was this and 2) what filter were you using? Otherwise I can only suggest to bracket like crazy. Link to comment
