Lovely blossom in an interesting picture.  I like the buds at the end of the stem, but they pull me away from the subject. Not sure what the remedy would be. - Charles

After coming back to it, I think the crop I would do, if it were mine, would be with just a little of the cross branch at the top of the group of buds on the bottom of the shot making a base form and then the flower. Keep the first bud down the stem. Get rid of the end of the stem and buds. This really puts the focus on the flower. - Charles

Kraig, i on the other hand really like this composition. To me the buds compliment the flower and also visa versa. Also a nice b/g here, a shame the green is not more evenly spread as is pretty dark from just beneath flower to bottom of image, which throws your balance off just a bit. Image has a lot of mood caused by general over all darkness. Nice work.
