It is pictures like this that destroy the confidence of wanna be birders like myself. It is not just that the bird is uncommon, or that the shot is so well done, but the color fidelity, combined with both of those attributes, really elevate this shot to that rarified air you and a few others on this site occuppy. I do not kid you when I say I'm INSANELY jealous of this and most of your work.

Excellent photo Monte, I usually don't see their talons when I photograph them, they're usually standing in the entrance to their burrow. Great light, detail and background.

I love the Stare! background is excellent! I like the warm colors. Someone mentioned about the talons, I agree, this is the first image of burrowing owl that I see talons. I would cheat and brighten up the eyes.
