Looks like he ought to be in a new production of The Sign of the Four.  He has accessorized his outfit very well, and the dreads are, like, way cool. Do you know if the scars on his chest are self-inflicted? If so, this is the first that this ignorant Westerner has heard of that practice among Hindoos.

I like the bit of environmental context here, but I might tone down the blue whatsis behind his left arm.

Do these guys pose for pictures? Do they just accept that they'll be photographed? He looks pretty calm and relaxed, considering there are 40 million or so people around waiting to bathe in Mother Ganges.

Well Les, Maybe he used to be a sword fighter or the scars could be from the Hindu version of the Sun Dance.  Chivalry? Maybe.  And yes, he seemed amicable enough and willing to let me shoot a few photos of him.  Of course, at that point in time I was already given the mantra, my new Sadhu name, and had become a disciple of one of the Naga Babas....so, in a way, he was my brother.

There are seldom pictures of conscious persons available. This is one of the best. Really stunning consciousness! He is a dedicated yogi! I would not change thing. It is amazing portrait that impresses his essence as yogi very well. Sharpness is amazing and the pose and eyes are stunning. As he is very sharp, the background does not disturb at all, for me it brings out the real India. Thousands of things laying around, but spiritual quest shines forth!
