richard_mittleman 0 Posted March 19, 2001 There is no digital manipulation. This is how the original slide looks. Link to comment
kevin_kolosky 2 Posted March 19, 2001 wish you would have gotten the whole duck on the photograph. otherwise, in a word, exquisite. Kevin Link to comment
nige_buddy 0 Posted March 20, 2001 managed to hit the ratings BEFORE entering my comment, thus adding this manually to explain my alternative view since I now see that 'people' think highly of this pic.Although the red is unique, for me it's overbearing, the right hand side of the frames effects looks quite snazy. As Kevin mentioned, I's also prefer to see the whole duck (or maybe less duck - head and shoulders view) as the current view looks like it was misframed, but the biggest factor that I rated this pic low, is the details in the ducks feathers.. there is none! and that seriously detracts IMO.. overall it just doesn't work for me. LenMarriott 9 Posted October 14, 2001 Richard, I tend to agree with both Kevin & Nige but disagree strongly with some of the low ratings. I wonder if there is a chrome film out there which would have rendered detail in the white feathers and still retain the vibrant colours reflected. If it had received less exposure, detail in the dark part of the duck would have been lost. This shot looks like the film went through an LSD pre-bath before processing. Very bold! Best, LM.
