tobyvidnes 0 Posted March 18, 2001 Sorry for all the dust on the scan, and for the size: but what do you think? Link to comment
Uhooru 2,207 Posted March 18, 2001 I tend to like these sort of shots, and I like the way you used the contrasty light witht the dark hall. I also generally like the reflection off the what appears to be polished floor (?). I know it was probably something out of your control, but the reflection, to me, would have been even stronger if only the bars of the window were reflected, but, when your grabbing shots, you have to deal with whats there. I think the symmetrical centering is nice and strong and I like the ambiguity of the reflection almost seeming to carry on through the window. Was there water right behind there or had it just rained? Also, I think you did a nice job in creating a mood with the very dark interior, but despite the darkness, you can still see the details of the hallway...sweet to my eyes. As I'm a beginner, and especially concerned with exposure, could provide a little info as to your camera settings for the pic? Nice photo. Barry Fisher Link to comment
tobyvidnes 0 Posted March 19, 2001 Thank you, Barry! As I remember it, I probably used my camera (a Nikon F100) in aperture-priority and f-stop 8. That is actually my favourite setting and I tend to use it a lot, but I might be wrong on this one. I also think it was a rather sunny day. Cold but sunny--that's Minnesota. Now I'm back in Norway and it's the same--cold but sunny! Thanks for your comment--I always like it when people find my pictures interesting! Link to comment
