Nice work John, very sensuous image.  Nice textures and lines. The droplets of water are a nice touch.  Regards - michel

Love the lines and texture in this photo. Also like the gradations of green throughout, adding to the apparent lines and textures. Well done!

Well, what have we here.....this is just really gorgeous. Starting with your two colors which work perfectly together. your textures are very nice, as is your form. Really like this work John. It all starts with those two great colors. So glad you did not put a white border or something similiar around it. Nice work!

A sincere thank you to all!   I was sitting, watching the evening news and suddenly noticed the warm light on the walls of my living room...and decided that instead of listening to more "doom and gloom", I'd go out a take a few pictures.  We have several hosta that are beginning to unfurl and I always think that at this stage of their opening, they're most beautiful. We had a much needed bit of rain yesterday, so their were a few drop of water remaining on the leaves...which is always a nice touch.

Roger,  I'm glad you commented because...(a) you're one of the nicest people on PN, (b) I consider you to be my "floral guru"...due to the fact that I feel that your floral photographs are the best on the site...so I always respect and appreciate your comments, and © you left a nice comment on another photo that I did not respond to...so this gives me a chance to thank you.  (I deleted the photograph before responding).  So, thank you, twice over!

And...a question, Roger.  I'm glad that you apparently had no issue with the black framing.  I used it for a couple of reasons.  First of all, the picture seemed to need a boundary. I have difficulty expressing why...but it just didn't "look right", unframed.  I wanted any framing to be as least obtrusive as possible...thus I went black, which I think gives a bit of sophistication (if you will) to the overall appearance. As well, the black seemed to serve the purpose of drawing the eyes inward  for a deeper look (if that makes any sense). So, the question...do you feel the choice was a good one...or would you have gone "frameless"?

John, first in answer to your question would i have gone frameless. I have never put a image up here for critique with a frame on it. That is mainly because i feel this site should be about images and nothing more. As to your frame in black, well to me it makes this image, if you had of added the white line like so many people do it would have changed the the whole atmosphere of your work.  What you have here are two colors that fit well together.  There is another image up at the moment by Bela Molnar which is similar to what you have here except he has the white line. On Bela's image it works i think mainly because he has lots of black in his image and it defines the image within the frame.  Anyway this is a lovely image and i like it very much.  Stay well........roger
