johncarvill 0 Posted April 8, 2010 For once, I think I got the composition of this one about right. The window was higher up than it probably looks in the photo. From memory, I think I used a zoom and tripod. Camera was Nikon F3, Fuji Velvia 100, slide was pro-scanned by Peak Imaging. Link to comment
Tom Wiggins Photography 0 Posted April 9, 2010 John: I like the colors, but do think the photo would be better if you corrected the distortion do to the low camera angle. Tom Link to comment

johncarvill 0 Posted April 9, 2010 Thanks guys, comments much appreciated. Tom, I know what you mean, of course, but one of the reasons I was pleased with this shot was the fact that the window didn't look nearly so distorted as I expected. Your adjustment, I reckon, goes a bit too far, making the window frame look narrower at the bottom than the top. Obviously, the flowers growing out of the window were what attracted me, but I love the texture on the surrounding wall too. The only snag is the yellowing under the windowsill. aanji 1 Posted April 12, 2010 John, I agree with your assessment regarding the distortion adjustment - I too like the original. It is too bad about the yellow distraction, I'm sure a photoshop expert could take care of it (I couldn't.) I love the subdued colors contrasted by the floral explosion. And the wall is wonderful! thanks for sharing it. Link to comment
