LenMarriott 9 Posted November 25, 2010 Dark & moody comes to mind. Not a place I would care to be stranded in under the conditions portrayed here. Your choice of film and processing, with it's exaggerated grain, intensifies this feeling. An odd combination for general landscape photography but great for the feeling of desolation emanating from it. Seems to be a favoured style of yours. Would look great as part of a series of shots of this nature. Not sure about a stand alone offering. Needs some pondering as it doesn't immediately grab me. Can't fault the composition though I'd like to see better definition in the cluster of trees in the center. Could be a result of transferring the file from it's original residence to my screen. johnmyers 5 Posted January 5, 2011 Len, thank you so much for your detailed comment.I am very pleased you felt what I was going for with this image. You are totally correct that this would be stronger as a "suite" of images, and in fact that is what I've done...I just chose this one for uploading to the web. And you are also correct about transferring the small negative to the computer - the cluster of trees has far more details in a wet print. Thanks again! Link to comment
