mbranciforte 0 Posted February 26, 2003 I really like the depth of this photo, the contrasts are very nice as well. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted February 26, 2003 G'day Mike! Have looked at this for a while and even played around with it in PS... My suggested attached image is a crop, but is not meant as a crop. Instead, try to imagine it as a full 6x6 frame out of your Hawkeye (I realize my crop is not exactly square). As much as I appreciate the perspective/depth, I thought it might be an idea to walk a few steps forward and try to make the first post/pillar on the left (more or less) fill the frame. Result is a more (aggressive) diagonal line in my view. See what you think. Link to comment
connealy 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Thanks for taking the time to think about my picture. I did consider shooting it as you suggested, and I thought about cropping too. Not sure I can fully explain my decision, but it probably has to do with wanting to emphasize a more open quality, and I think the the tighter crop emaphasizes a confining feeling though it has some obvious graphic strength. This is actually a closed-off roadway across a high dam. It is an interesting place, so I'll no doubt get back to try again some time. Link to comment
