I love rodeos, and I think your choice of monochrome is a good one here. I wish this photo had the steer he was trying to rope actually in the frame --- it looks like he's going for the one on the far right of the picture. If that steer was fully in the frame, and the stuff on the left was cropped out, so we just had the cowboy, his horse, and the steer -- I think it would be a stronger image.

Having said that, I understand that you have multiple moving targets here -- horse, cowboy, steer, lariat. Not an easy task, to have them all in focus and all in the frame!
