Ray House 4,511 Posted February 26, 2003 Your work gives me a sense of the action and the determination of the players. Plus, the artistic qualities that make viewing a pleasure. Well done! Link to comment
michael_green 0 Posted February 27, 2003 Perhaps a face? Some personal impact of the players would help. Also, there's too much empty space up top. With the chaotic streaks of arms, there's a larger potential for a flurried, stronger image there. But I like the recurring circles of heads and ball. But if the ball was closer to the point of release...Then you could congest the whole image. Link to comment
christian deichert 1 Posted February 27, 2003 Seems kind of like El Greco meets ESPN. Did you compress the horizontal ratio and not the vertical ratio? They seem elongated. I like the effect. Link to comment
indywatchman 0 Posted February 28, 2003 The horizontal was compressed to exaggerate the height and thinness of the players. I go to a lot of games, watching my grandson play sports. These kids play with so much heart. My intentions were to capture the non-traditional sports shot. What I discovered was an art form that has captured me. My Hoosier Hysteria portfolio shows some of the other effects I have been able to create. The white space at the top was left empty to kind of overstate the void into which the ball was entering, out of reach of the other players. The picture wasn't meant to identify any of the players (although I know almost all the kids on one team) but to allow others to relate to the effort put forth by our youth. Link to comment

dean_blair 0 Posted March 1, 2003 It is just a blurry out of focus picture and I don't care for it. I have accidently taken pictures like this and threw them away. Link to comment
hayward 0 Posted March 2, 2003 I've seen a few of your photos like this and honestly didn't care for them all that much, but I like this one and looking at your folder, you seem to have developed this techinque fairly well. It reminds me a bit of Leroy Neiman... Link to comment
