Bill- I always admire these types of shot. There is a certain hand eye that is required and I don't seem to possess Very well captured. Best wishes-Jim

I'm new to this critique thing, but I'm finding a can learn a lot about my work by looking at other peoples. The timing of your shot is great, and the shallow depth of focus really makes the kid and bike stand out from the background. I think you might have made it even better by doing 2 things differently.

1. You've zoomed (or cropped) in really close, but we have no idea how high the bike is from the ground. If you show a little more below the bike, we might be even more impressed.

2. You obviously used a very high shutter speed since we can see the spokes of the wheels clearly. This is where using a slower shutter speed may help. If the spokes were blurred, we would get the impression of speed as well, which would add to the picture.

Keep shooting!
