Guest Guest Posted March 30, 2010 Ricardo, I too, love this photograph. She is a beautiful girl. You have focused quite well on her expressive eyes, but I do believe they could be sharper. I love the way she is expressing her innocent smile. She does seem to have the Japanese gesture down well for an apparent American (Anglo) -- Gaijin. She has very nice catch lights and has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). The skin tone is wonderful. The contrast is very nice -- very good detail in your whites and blacks. The background is nicely out of focus. She has a great manicure. Even though the background is out of focus, I don't like the pole and the bright objects and shapes. It distracts from the girl. The foreground, being out of focus, also attracts my attention away from the girl. It would be better if foreground was in focus or, better yet, not there at all. You have shot a vertical subject in a horizontal format. This might have worked better as a vertical portrait. Too bad there wasn't some light coming from behind her to help separate her hair from the dark background. Your exposure and the girl really makes this portrait. Just her expression and hand gesture makes up for any minor corrections that could be make. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 29, 2010 Very nice shot, pretty girl. I like the background and the blur, the girl is well lit. I don't mind even the pillar (telling the truth; what could you do with it). Link to comment
