This hummingbird is an absolutely amazing bird to shoot. At first glance he is a muddy

brown/reddish colur then he turns into the sunlight and bingo! It looks like he has

plugged his tail into the national grid. I have taken hundreds of shots of this bird and no

two look look alike colour wise. The flash of colour lasts a millisecond and is a real

challenge to shoot in natural light with no flash. Enjoy!

Your collection of hummers is superb! Like amazing jewels that you share with your viewers, your fondness and "rapport" with these beauties is really impressive! And it's great that you manage to capture these remarkable portraits, like this one, without flash. The soft blur of their wings still shows nice definition to create a lovely complement and "frame" for that exquisite display of their "jewelry". That "structural color" that iridesces so magically is breathtaking! And thanks for your revelation of the "Tufted Coquet"! Who knew?! I'd never seen one of these guys -- amazing! Kudos on your phenomenal portfolio. Cheers!
