ted_petricini 0 Posted March 18, 2001 Digital is new to me also using Photoshop. What could be done to make it better? The only thing I did was flip the photo. Taken at sunrise on my way to work. I'm still on the steep learning curve with it. Link to comment
dan_andrews 0 Posted March 18, 2001 Ted-- I love the rich color in your picture. No filters and no digital touch-ups? I only was able to achieve the purplish-color effect once myself, and I must say that in the case of this photo it looks great. The use if the tree in the foreground gives the picture some scale and some detail, but next time I would suggest taking a shot of the complete tree, as well as the branches. Since you're using digital, you may lose a lot of the detail, but the composition of a complete tree would make a more powerful image. It's your call as to which you prefer, but you don't know until you try both. And don't be afraid to use a computer to touch-up the details as much as you like. Sometimes little "artifacts" (read: dust on the scanner) makes it necessary to touch up film scans, but in digital it's purely a matter of choice. With a photo like this, you know you've got some good subject amtter and rich color, so it's a perfect image to work with something like Photoshop. Keep up the nice work and feel free to comment on any of my pictures, too. Link to comment
tom_menegatos 0 Posted March 20, 2001 I find the tree branches annoying the way it is. It's disrupting the lines of the background. It dominates too much of the scene. If you move the back and use more of the tree as either a foreground or framing element I think it would look better. Nice colors and exposure. Link to comment
