Whoever you are - you must be pretty miserable - sorry for you. I will just assume you are jealous ;)

 

I have no problems with people giving a picture low ratings - it is better than everyone giving 6s and 7s, but I would really like to know what makes this picture a below average image of a cheetah hunting - if you know of others with this subject matter that in your opinion deserve a 6 or 7 - I would absolutely love to see them.

 

Thanks for rating anyway - seems this site only rates nudes consistently. My nudes get immediate attention, while landscapes, portraits and wildlife shots rarely get more than a couple of rates... too bad - this used to be a more serious site.

Stephan, I also get some off the wall low anonymous ratings for some landscape photos that all other people rate high, so I also find it very odd also. Glad you said it, because I have been thinking about it. Take care and I look forward to more of your work.

The 3/3 anonymous rating problem irks me, too, so much that I no longer submit my photos for rating, just critique. It means a smaller audience, but so be it. I too would wonder why anyone would rate this 3/3, but it's not about that. It's just someone with their equivalent of graffiti spray paint, trying to do damage wherever they can.

 

As far as this photo goes, great moment captured with the cheetah's paw up to trip the calf. The cat must have really been going. Wish I could see this with my own eyes some day. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Stephan, its been said before, raters should not be anonymous, that would get rid of the gutless. However if the rating system didnt have anonymity then many images would not progress up the ladder.

marvelous shot and many don't realize what it takes to get a shot like this. I saw a Cheetah in Masai Mara bring down a Thompson Gazelle and my driver and I were not really close to the scene which was transpiring at high speed and in a zig zag pattern until the cheetah brought it down. I captured it with my eyes but not with my camera because i would not have been able to do it justice.

 

The anon 3/3s are here to stay and the more we write about it the more they get encouraged. I don't like to piggyback on other people's images but for demonstration purposes only here is one of mine http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=10853623 that started with a 4/3 and then a 3/3 - of course without comment.
