gabriel vidrean 0 Posted March 25, 2010 Well, another fine portrait,I see that you use a f:2.8,maybe a bigger aperture, let's say f:8 would have shown us a bit of the background.Photographer choice, anyway.A job well done, sir.Have a great day ! Link to comment
reubengoh 0 Posted March 25, 2010 I've always enjoyed your portraits. You have good compositions! The image is just perfect except the model's face is a little on the dark side for me. But still amazing! Link to comment
whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted March 25, 2010 Yep, I like shooting portraits wide open, Gabriel. While I agree that some parts of the background may be interesting with less blur, the railing at the upper right would become hugely distracting, especially considering how close it is to the subject. I'm glad I maxed out the bokeh. Thanks for your very kind compliments. Link to comment
whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted March 25, 2010 Reuben, I see what you mean, but one's monitor really comes into play here. On two of the three displays I've used to view this photo, the face looks well-lit. On the third it's a bit shadowy. Link to comment

jtipton 0 Posted March 26, 2010 Now personally I like the wider aperture. I think the shot is about the model and less about the background. Beautiful shot Calvin. Regards-Jim Link to comment
karolostrivizas 2 Posted March 26, 2010 This is a very successful portrait of this beautiful girl Calvin enriched by the vantage pale blue b/g. ……………Her sweet expression and her slight smile are marvelous. ……….Also nice treatment of the soft light and beautiful natural color tones…............PS: Many thanks for your kind comment under my last image.
