What kind of fish is this. also pix taken with 100-400is Canon on

EOS1V wide open. On Dixie Beach Road, Sanibel Island,Fla. Feb.01

Closer shot would add more impact. Image also appears not sharp. Was the IS feature employed in this shot? or was it your scanner? If the IS feature was used and not because of your scanner - it didn't seem to work.

That to me, looks like scanner fuzz.

I agree, a closer crop would help. Did you use a polarizing filter. If the sky were darker and more dramatic I think it may bring the subject out more.

I am not sure but I think the fish is a Speckled Trout. Fun shot!!
