Very lovely detail, well done on not making the mess of the foreground - I know it is difficult with all the small flowers. Love the warm colours too!

Mark, it's amazing. You've got the perfect timing here with the sunset. You're a real hunter :) I'm from Utah and waiting for July for our wildflowers to bloom, it's too cold now in the mountains. Where are these beautiful hills located exactly? What's the closest town to these hills? Is it just called Rancheria road or Kern Canyons Rd?

Mark...  Great to see you up here on the "Daily Sampling"!  Not only because your work is well deserved, but I actually get to see a photographer up here that is active and participates.  Sorry, I just hate to see a good shot up here and then click to find the photographer hasn't participated either with reciprocal comments or hasn't been active for years.

Again, a great shot and well deserved representation of PN... Mike

Thanks Mike! Well, as you can see, I also have difficulty keeping up with all of my reciprocities. I somehow neglected to respond to Monte, Erik, Ramunas and Alesandro. Seems I read the comments and plan to come back with more than just a "thanks", and then I get pulled away for some reason. Sorry about that. I try! Alesandro, if you are revisiting, the closest town is Bakersfield and the road is named "Rancheria".

Mark...  I don't want to clog your image string with op/ed comments, but I was referring to the ratio between "Critique Requests" and "Comments on Gallery Photos".  No matter how spectacular the image I just can't comment on any person's work where this ratio is out of whack....  You have a magnificent record with comments...  Have a great weekend... Mike

Thanks Vineet and thanks again Mike! I like that reference Vineet; great impressionists. Sounds good! Yes Mike, I know what you mean. In fact, there is a landscape photographer (perhaps one of the best) here on PNet who seems to only take and rarely gives, yet everyone still bows to him like he is Mecca. In fact, he even thought he could charge for his critiques. As I said, I think he is one of the best and I have a great deal of respect for him, but it would be nice to see him give back to the community. That's how we all get along!

Read your words, and hope you have already recovered.  This great work would do you good.  Best regards,
