danielkekesi1 0 Posted February 22, 2003 It is the kind of image I'd like to blow up and hang on my wall. Excellent. It must have been an adventure being there. Link to comment
miles_hecker 0 Posted February 22, 2003 I really don't intend to be rude here, but this is just a cookie cutter picture of 'The Wave' shot with average light and okay composition. I do believe it's fine to shoot cliches. We can learn a lot in the process. If you do so however, the light and or composition needs to be special to be considered a very good or excellent photo. stephen_ellaway 0 Posted February 23, 2003 Amazing composition Yal, I cannot imagine how you could have improved the framing; perfect. I love the richness and the clarity that you have created from the scene, and that small area ofblue sky compliments the'sea' of red perfectly. Steve Link to comment
monti 0 Posted February 24, 2003 For anyone reasonably familiar with the broad range of photography that comes from the Coyote Buttes areas, this is a standard stock shot. Really quite documentary in nature and photographed at the worse time of day for the desert southwest. Like Miles, I don't mean to be rude, but this really is cookie cutter and the people who rate it high have little to no familiarity with the body of work that has basically accounted for the environmental trashing of this incedibly unique and fragile area. This can at best be a 4/4. Link to comment
iustinian_ofistanbul 0 Posted February 24, 2003 Nice place, nice photograph. Just a coinsidence... if I remember correctly, there is a photograph of the same (or similiar) place in January issue of French magazine, Photo. You must see that photograph too. Link to comment
frank_becker 0 Posted February 27, 2003 As one not familiar with this area, I think the shot is nicely composed and lighted well, despite being mid-morning or mid-afternoon. The intensity is on the right wall, with shaddowed ridges on the left and in the background with highlights, providing wonderful and varied texture. If this is a cookie - cutter shot as a couple of comments suggest, I'd love to see other photos with better lighting, etc. I, for one, think this is a beautiful photograph. Link to comment
