I am a professional photographer who also does quite a bit of

teaching. I have been hearing a lot about photo.net for the last 6

months and have had multiple workshop participants ask if this

is a good way to get feedback. I will be submitting a few images

over the course of the next month to experience the feedback

forum first hand so that I can have an educated conversation

about this site. Any and all comments about this image and / or

your experiences using photo.net as a feedback forum would be

greatly appreciated. Thank you ! - Craig

I like the idea behind the composition. Why is there so much vignetting around the edges?

I really like this photo. The highlight in the foreground leading to the rock surrounded by fog works great. I also like the hills on both sides that keep your attention focussed on the center. It has a very mistical quality from what I assume is a long shutter speed with flowing water and fog.

The only thing that is lacking to me is the sky. With such an interesting foreground, that one little wisp of cloud just isn't doing it for me. Overall, a great image still.

I'm not sure if I'm viewing clouds or water. Mystery is a good thing. I like the dynamic between the diagonal and horizon. I also like the way the wisp of clouds mimicks the diagonal line. In opposition to the above poster, I prefer yourchoice of little sky - maybe even less would have worked. In response to your post concerning this sight and its critiques. It can drive a person crazy at times. There are "WOW's" everywhere. On great images, and on not so great images. To me, wow just doesn't cut it. Even if it's only nice color, or good composition, it's a better benefit than "WOW".

There is a gentleman on this site named Marc Gouguenheim. I seek his response out first to each new "Photo of the Week" (POW). Very articulate, cordial, and great insights to life. Enjoy the site, and I'll enjoy your LF posts.
