I wish you included a bit more of the pavement. To me, the storm drain crowds the edges of the image too much. Otherwise, I like it. (In fact, I have a similar subject in my portfolio.)

Matthijs, just enough pavement to place the drain in context, the drain which, from where i'm looking, is afterall the subject of the piece, and needs the closeup to get the impact of where "they" are coming from. it's understandable that Mark wants more of the pavement, because the textures you've captured are so satisfying, yet the close up is needed to see the creepiness and all that rust. also, i'm pleased with my print out of your Silver Trail; soon as i choose the color matting for it i'll take a picture of it on my wall to send you. regards. dp

Lovely photo. The subject has been well-captured and the photo makes me curious (and somewhat uncomfortable) about what may be hiding beneath. The texture has been brought out very well. I have a similar photo, though of a different object. See if this appeals to you in any way. Regards.

cool. i love manhole covers and this one is a gem: nature is creeping insuperably into the iron and pavement, cracking, ever gnawing, oxidizing. a wealth of colors and rich texture. bravo.
