alauriston 1 Posted March 9, 2010 Double portrait of two brothers taken almost a decade ago, with film. Your comments & thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Audrey Link to comment
gen_b. 0 Posted March 9, 2010 Wow, I really like this. I like the duality of their expressions -- you can just tell what the younger brother thinks of his elder brother by his face. I also appreciate the gritty style, and the fact that you chose black and white. The only gripe I can summon is that I vacillate between liking and being distracted by the placement of them both within the frame. I think that's a subjective call, though. Link to comment
alauriston 1 Posted March 9, 2010 Thank you for taking the time to comment this picture. I took it when I was about 17, after inheriting my father's old Minolta. I don't remember taking it, but I recall loving the result when I got it back from development (sadly, I didn't have a darkroom back then). Knowing the subjects, I thought I really caught the relation between them both... If I could shoot it again, I would probably bend down a little and move back, so the youngest wouldn't be so low in the frame. But I like the fact that they are apart, on both sides of the frame with a space in the middle. This picture brings back a lot of memories, and I'm happy to learn that it's not one of those shots that are only interesting for the photographer. My best regards, Audrey Link to comment
