Guest Guest Posted April 14, 2010 Milena, There are many things about this portrait that I would normally criticize. Sometimes there is something about a portrait that moves me in such a way that I feel emotionally involved with the subject and all the little things that I normally find objectionable seem unimportant. I'm not sure why I find this one of those portraits. I might see something of myself in this girl. I see her as introspective -- wanting to move on to completing something, yet unsure where to go or what to do next. A stagnant artist looking for an answer -- deep in her own mind. Her attire is a jumble of things that do not go together. The plaid shirt over the striped shirt with what could be a native necklace. Like a cluttered mind where nothing has yet come together. The background is the blank canvas of her mind that has yet to be organized into coherent thoughts. Even her eyes are lost, somewhere in thought with no catch light of meaning to give them life. Good composition, lighting, skin tone, contrast, expression and for me... feeling. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
milena_galchina 70 Posted April 14, 2010 Thanks for your comment on my shot.In fact I don't know the girl-this is a candid.I saw her drawing on the street in front of an old house. You observed a lot of details here and wrote an interesting analisis.Like your oppinion because of its detailed description!Much appreciated! alexto 0 Posted April 15, 2010 The moment, pose of model and processing is pleasant, all is good, but what for it is necessary b/w? B/w in general impoverishes, in my opinion this shot, does its fresh.Yours sincerely,Alex Link to comment
milena_galchina 70 Posted April 16, 2010 Rueda. Alexsander thanks for your time! Alexander, the colours of her clothing were quite bold and distract the attention from her calm face exspression. For me this is a character study not only a children shot. And b&w retouch is more suitable here in my oppinion.I appreciate your comment-colour version will be another shot with differend mood in it! Best regards! Milena Link to comment
donna pallotta 108 Posted April 17, 2010 Milena, all the elements you include to do your study of the girl create a successful focus on the moment of the girl doing an intense study of her own. very effective. dp Link to comment

georgeu 0 Posted October 27, 2010 The kind of portrait that keeps your attention minutes in a row...Congratulation for your work! Link to comment
rapo 0 Posted February 23, 2011 I love this portrait. There is something very classical in her attitude and her eyes that reminds me renaissance paintings. They have something mysterious and, let say "untold" that I feel in your picture. Beautiful BW, textures and DOF. Congratulation. Link to comment
