Danny is a friend that I have shot many times and in this instance I was experimenting with a higher level of contrast with the camera, in black and white mode. The lighting was a 60w light bulb about 8 feet away. I had it on a tripod with timer enabled and he held still. I cropped a distracting element out of the background that was on the wall on the far left. Thats why the photo is square.

How does this rate? I am curious what other photographers have to

say about this photo compared with others of this style. (High

contrast, close-up, facial, b&w, etc.) Looking forward to your

Would be nice to see more negative space on the right side of the frame, as that's the direction he's looking, and less on the left side.
