masterboyle 0 Posted March 15, 2001 what do you think of the composition and overall impact? Link to comment
fatboab 1 Posted March 15, 2001 I don't like hte dark areas on the top and bottom right... Plus I feel that the "walker" should have more room to walk into. Try using a landscape format rather than portrait next time. Link to comment
oscar1 0 Posted March 15, 2001 I like the diagonal lines, the walker's shadow and all the mood in the picture, as a suspense movie, an expressionist film, or a Franz Kafka's book. If it was the intended, well done. Link to comment
neil_beddoe1 0 Posted March 15, 2001 Very angular and powerful. I like the zig zag of the shadows and handrail. Link to comment
jlee 0 Posted March 15, 2001 I really like this shot. The diagonal area on the top right is a little disconcerting as is the fact the the subject has little walking room. However, I think both those facts ad to the unique eire quality of this shot. Link to comment
antonio_quinones 0 Posted March 16, 2001 This picture conveys the loneliness of a modern man, in a modern world pursuing...well, pursuing what? I am not sure; however, the very lack of "space to walk into" that another poster objected to may be answer.I should add that when I saw the picture I thought "Kafka". Another poster had the same feeling so evidently the picture strongly evokes a similar feeling in different people. The colors (or at least lack of bright ones), the metal stairs, the unadorned wall holding only the lone commuter's shadow, all work together perfectly. ws_lam 0 Posted March 21, 2001 love it on first sight! i actually like the black top righ, contrary to the previous comment. i think it balances nicely with the black bottom. but, the more i look at it, the more i sense there was something 'wrong'... i think the 'mood' of the pic doesn't really blend with a guy in a nice suit and briefcase! maybe if the man was wearing something else, the mood was be more consistent. chip l. 1 Posted September 18, 2002 The dark areas do a great job of leading the eye... Link to comment
