Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 12, 2010 The super saturated color reminds me of of a promotional giveaway by Shell service stations in the 1950's. On every visit they would give you a free picture of a scenic point in the US. The pictures had the same super-saturated color as this photo as if the paint had been heavily applied with an air gun. It's color you don't encounter much nowadays but which I find very appealing.. Link to comment

mahen 0 Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks Jack for stopping by ..I am happy that the colors took you to many years back. The super saturation may also stand for the contrast between Guns and Roses :) Here, I tried to re-capture the glow of the Muga silk (found only in Assam, north-eastern corner of India) cloths the girls are wearing, actually they are like this...shining Thanks Joaquin for the kind words.. amalsircar 2 Posted May 26, 2010 Mahen, you have adroitly captured the festive mood of Bihu .The ladies in traditional 'mekhela' and inclusion of the drummer with 'pepa', enhances the beauty of the image. I have very fond memories of Rongali and Bhogali Bihu festival in Assam.“Bihu anondia, Bihu binondiaBihur mou mitha hatBihur ba lagi bihua kokair eDeu dhoni laguse gat.” Link to comment
