Very good. The man in the centre is of course the main subject but the cat gives the picture its composition and meaning. Colors, contrasts and excellent sharpness only make the photo better.

A very strong image, as many have said the rich colors and the complosition by perpendicular lines, the framing effect around the man work very well. The cat adds a lot however , introducing an "odd" element, some unbalance, to a composition that otherwise would risk to become static. Well done! L.

If I were choosing Photo of the Week this would be a clear contender, but probably it would not be chosen.

 

The simple reason: It's simply too wonderful, but also way too clear and although a little mysterious, somewhat unambiguous.

 

If Photo of the Week were purely a popularity contest, this would be a sure fire winner; just look at the raters and their credentials as commentors, long-time members and even a few POW holders (in my case I can attest it can be quite by accident.)

 

You weren't 'robbed' of POW, but instead your photo just is too good, too clear cut, and left little to be said for an item that is to inspire discussion. What does this leave to be said, anyway? Perfection!

 

I hope that is consolation . . . . as this photo truly is deserving of highest accolade.

Beautiful colors and composition. The fabric hanging from the opening suggests to me this may be this man's home and the cat belongs to him, or at least has befriended a kind soul who may offer him a bite to eat. If that is the case, it is both sad and beautiful; beautiful that loneliness can reach out and find others - sad that loneliness need exist at all. Thank you for sharing. :)
