Is this natural or oversaturated in post processing? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Also, the horizon is at a disturbing angle.

Thank you, Doug, for your interest in this picture. The photo was taken with a creative filter, the texture is its result. The colours are SW adjusted to give it a surreal feeling. Thanks and warm regards

Doug (and Milena),

I feel I have to comment re the suggestion that post-processing is somehow a bad thing (oversaturated/benefit of the doubt?)...

My viewpoint is that we are making pictures here. The camera and lens are just two of many factors that go into a picture. The film (card), filter and post-processing are more factors and are all chosen and applied by the picture-maker/artist/photographer.

I never apologize for post production. I would also never apologize for a "disturbing" horizon unless it was my intent to capture a scene for scientific documentation purposes. Art is art and NOTHING is incorrect in my view.

I happened upon this picture because it is very simillar to one I made. My focus (no pun intended) was more towards the way the shadows interact with the trees and snow. This different approach was interesting to me.

Milena, perhaps the horizon is not "disturbing" enough?

Apparently, I had very little to do this afternoon. I just did some photo-phorensics and discovered that the trees and horizon are not square. Was this photo taken on a hillside?

Thank you, Martin, for your interest in this picture. Yes, it was taken on a slope, all the composition remained "as it is", I adjusted only the colours to "tune" them with the "disturbing" structure of the picture. Take the picture only as a kind of play with shapes, colours and texture resulting from using the filter. Nothing was intentional, I only liked the result. Thanks and warm regards

Very interesting presentation with amazing color tonality. It's attractive. Very skillful management of light and shadows. Best regards.
