human images 4 Posted January 26, 2010 great one Ton - what a beautiful looking kid - and so cool, giving you such a sweet vibe and all... And you took it and we the better for it... ;-)... I'm sure you snapped more than one frame (probably vertical) so as to showcase his (parents) sophisticated and stylish attire. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted January 27, 2010 A charismatic personality in his eyes and his attire supports it. I also like the square framing in the background that repeats the checkered pattern in his scarf... Link to comment
celasun 0 Posted January 29, 2010 A warm, shining smile throughout his face; full of optimism, hope... Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted January 29, 2010 there's some natural charm in the boy's face which makes this shot so optimistic, this is a great portrait imo, original mainly due to his nice, a bit eccentric clothing style. Love all the patterns here and, as Tim observes, the juxtaposition of the checked scarf and the frame of the bacground looks in particular aesthetically pleasing. And, needles to say, the bw treatment is on the highest level. Link to comment
3m 0 Posted January 30, 2010 Hi Ton, This is a very fine photo again. -- I just want to add that I perceive a sweet and optimistic vibe in the boy's smile and expression, similar to the above comments as well. And yes, also the checkered/herringbone patterns of his hat & scarf match those of the blurred bg very nicely as well. In addition, I wonder how you took this picture...? The boy seems so at ease here, and gives you a beautiful personable smile. (& I wonder if you cropped this picture at all, to attract more attention to his face, and the previously mentioned details like this?) Best regards, Marjolein Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted February 8, 2010 thanks. This little guy had just arrived at Antwerp station coming from London with his two big sisters to visit some family in Antwerp. Yes, I took several shots, both of him and his sisters, pretty girls they were and yes all were very nice and charismatic. Optimism, yes I can see why you commented upon that, I agree. The background was actually a bit of luck as I didn't set this up (I never do out there). Marjolein, no this was not cropped. Link to comment
