mtmixon 0 Posted January 25, 2010 This was taken mid-morning on a crisp winter day at a monastery in Germany. The morning mist was still hanging low, and the light was absolutely fantastic. As so often happens, when I went out on the same trail later in the day, the light had turned uninteresting and flat. Sometimes it pays to get out in the cold earlier in the day. Link to comment

pascalagneray 0 Posted February 21, 2010 After reading your comments, I decided to browse your pictures and I came across this one above. It's very compelling. I love it. Actually, this could be a perfect candidate for HDR. The snaking road is almost invisible in the back and it could maybe use some lightening in the background so it can unequivocally lead our eyes. However, the heavenly light is clearly what make this shot so that could interfere, I don't know honestly, it has to be tried first and judged later. Classic but Very very nice picture. mtmixon 0 Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks Pascal. Unfortunately I didn't take any bracketed shots of this scene, and so don't have the "raw materials" for an HDR image. But I agree that this one would be a great HDR experiment. I may play with some additional dodging and burning, but I find with this one that a lot depends on the monitor and/or light in the room...on some monitors it is too dark, and others (like mine) I like the amount of detail that I see. We also have it hanging on one of our walls, and I had to go through a few different print houses before I found one that was able to render the colors perfectly. :-) Link to comment
