Light-painted Icicle (experiment)
A big icicle and a mag light. This was my first "light painting" experiment. I don't think it was 100% successful, but I did get a lot of the effect I was looking for. Essentially, I played my mini-maglite across the icicle from the bottom and side (trying not to light the wall too much) for the duration of exposures ranging from 30 seconds to four minutes (this was around 2 minutes, I think). I was actually surprised by how lit the wall turned out, which reduced the separation of the icicle, but it still got a little glow from the lighting. Some levels adjustment done in Photoshop, but otherwise this is pretty much the slide. All comments welcome, of course. Enjoy.
