Wall Street in Zion Narrows no. 1

Wall Street in Zion Narrows is a great place to be. You wade in the

riverbed for hours. The water depth varies from half a meter to a couple

of meters. So come prepared with a sturdy tripod and a drysack. I used

the HDR technique based on 5 pictures with exposure times varying

from 30 sec to 2 sec.

Well done technique. For me this series is not as effective in pulling me in, as the Antelope series. HDR in the landscape is a touchy subject with some circles and for me, this is a setting that does not work effectively. Maybe it is the level of "pushing" the image that holds me back from complete appreciation. And yet, I and countless others, use some layering and shadow/highlight tools to "open up" an image, and little concern is raised. The inspiration for me in this image is the intentionality of the quest, the preparation, the search, the slog, and finally the completion of the field work to create the image you had in mind from the beginning.
