Duck!

arlo_midgett

One day we were out playing Frisbee Golf and someone happened to lose their disc on top of some brittle lake ice. The people here are actually trying to break the disc loose. On the same day, I took a picture of a Mallard duck with roughly the same lighting conditions. I thought it might be humorous to make it look like this guy was trying to flatten the innocent duck, but when I dropped the duck layer onto the other photo in PhotoShop the size was way off. I realized that was even better and just focused on "selling" the composite. The only thing I hate about this picture is the fact that both originals were taken with a Sony Mavica FD88. The 1 MegaPixel rating (max) is bad enough, but I've also never been able to properly expose a picture to my liking... (By the way, we never did get the disc back!)

After spending a lot of time down at the pixel level on composites

like this, it's often hard to step back and see the whole picture

again. Does this picture work for you? If not, what's wrong with it?
