tomdinning 0 Posted January 22, 2010 There's a nice story here but I can't read all the words. Maybe a slight body shift to the left would give me a better lead in with the pathway and better contrast for the figure to stand out a bit more. I keep shifting my vision back to the tree being slap bang in the middle of the picture. This is where the old 'rule of thirds' comes in. Push the tree (big, solid, dark) to one side and balance it with some lighter larger space on the other side. Take two shots; one with the fugure and one without. There's a sense of isolation here but its overcrowded by the tree. It would be nice to see where we are going or at least a sense of that. I am feeling a bit chilly so the B&W works for it.Play around with the contrast. Reducing the contrast on the background can have a nice mysterious effect. I'd go back to this place and sit for a day or 2 and wacth the moods change with the light. Then try different perspectives. There's a mess of opportunities here. Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted January 24, 2010 and i love it when people tell you to take a different photo. i know they mean well, but i think the suggestions above would castrate this image into obscure normality. challenging is good. Link to comment
