Alexander, The lighting this time a day is very harsh. I would imagine it is probably mid day. If you take this same shot earlier, like late morning or late afternoon, you will have much softer, flattering light.

I know it is often hard to have perfect lighting, but sometimes I will move around either side of the subject to see if the light gets softer and a little less harsh.
