human images 4 Posted January 16, 2010 lovely clarity Linda... from foreground to infinity. we always faced with innumerable choices to tone a picture and I really appreciate how you selected your tint with this one - no other could as effectively serve the old world atmosphere I feel here - a contemporary picture with the grace of an old picture. It has a certain idle feel I truly remember when as a young man I visited my grandparents and spent hours looking through their photo albums. I guess I never really tired of those pictures and only later understood how that particular vibe nourished my own aesthetic. I absolutely recognize the same dreamy quality here. This is a beautiful photograph guided by the instinct of a confident artist rather than studied intellectual deliberation. Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted January 16, 2010 like it a lot especially for its feel, agree with Carlos, though there's a lot of movement the photo has an idle, carefree atmosphere which makes the viewer's visit here a pretty relaxing experience. I find the parallel curved lines of the fence and the bikers riding along the route nice aesthetic components. Best regards. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted January 16, 2010 High praise, indeed, from Carlos the master of tonality - and deservably so. The sand and sky are the perfect backgrounds to set off the palms and the bicycle riders. Link to comment
lliebl 5 Posted January 17, 2010 It is indeed humbling to have 4 photographers whom I admire greatly give such positive comments. I appreciate very much your encouragement in coaxing along my photography education. ~~~~~~~~~~L Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted January 18, 2010 It's a splendid looking shot with excellent tones. IMHO if you could have moved a tad to the left and placed more space in front of the cyclist, it would have been even better!! But nevertheless well done Linda....Regards Link to comment
