herma 0 Posted January 15, 2010 Got to love that lighting....Maybe a tat more exposure? I think it is too dark to have it hang up on a wall. Or, mayby crop it a bit tighter on both dark sides so they are not so overwhelming. Herma Link to comment
victoria_v 0 Posted January 16, 2010 Thank you, Herma, but I'm too sensitive in this matter:) Every milimetre, every shadow, every nuance of color is significant to me. I don't recognize my photograph like this:) Link to comment

AlainD 0 Posted January 16, 2010 Amazing scene and atmosphere. I like the square crop. Congrats ! Link to comment
paulmac 0 Posted January 16, 2010 I think that this photo is beautifully exposed. I can see why Victoria defends the deep shade or "penumbra" of this beautifully composed image. We should not be afraid of the dark in our photos. Slight underexposure often makes for very soulful images. Have a look at how darkness worked for Carravagio. Link to comment
loli 0 Posted January 16, 2010 Victoria is a perfect image exposure, tones and color . The correction of Herma is not correct. Link to comment
rlcunningham 0 Posted January 16, 2010 Victoria; I have to side with you on this one. The composition, saturation, exposure, etc. are spot on! If it were my image, I would mount it with a mat, one to two shade darker than the girls shaws, and proudly display it on my wall! Simply beautiful simplicity! Thans for sharing! Link to comment
sallydouglas 0 Posted January 16, 2010 Hi Victoria... I don't blame you for being sensitive about the so called fix!... Your use of light, shade, crop and overall ambiance is what makes this photo special... It brings photography and art together, and creates much more than just a snap shot... If these were my children I would promptly run out the door, have it printed and framed, and mount it smack bang in the middle of my living room!!... Congratulation on a very special image indeed... I just love everything about it!... Best wishes.... Sally... Link to comment

jewelryman54 0 Posted January 20, 2010 Your photo makes me smile. I like the light... it's a little ... magical; a little Elfin Magic, Perhaps? Is Bilbo Baggins near? ..... you have captured the magic of innocence in childhood. Thank you. Link to comment

allen_r1 0 Posted March 26, 2010 I agree with everyone else. Your photo is far better than the "fix", more dramatic and yes, a little magical. You are one of my fav PN photographers. I continue to be amazed by the power of your photos. Link to comment
Ziggy01 1 Posted April 3, 2010 Victoria, I think color is distracting in that otherwise terrific image, so the only thing I did is I converted this to sepia. I know this as always up to the creator of the image, but I put this up as a alternative. Ziggy Link to comment
PhaasePhotography 0 Posted April 9, 2010 Fantastic shot, well seen and excectued. I think the colour makes the shot, the almost silhouetted children works a treat. Very creative. -Paul Link to comment
