cmouli 0 Posted January 17, 2010 nice! the one petal that seemded to have opened up early makes this shot interesting - an "outlier" in nature! could you comment on post-processing? did you for example, increase saturation - if so, by home much? colors look vibrant - but curious if you had to increase saturation. thanks for sharing. lalit 0 Posted January 25, 2010 Thanks guys. Good comments Chandra Mouli. I also wondered earlier about only one petal that broke the symmetry. But later on I thought, its best to show what's happening there right now in this seemingly static macro shot. The colors were very vibrant, I had to be very careful about adding anything to the original colors. A very slight increase in the saturation, and luminance especially on the yelloes in lightroom 2. Since this photo was taken in a shade, I removed blue cast by slightly increasing the temperature. I slightly increased the shadows but not much, as the inherent softness by the light reflecting from the petals needed to be preserved. Carefully worked on the contrasts on only fine level for the same reason. thanks and regards, +Lalit Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 31, 2010 Wonderful colors, deeply saturated yet true to life, and I really like the off-centered composition you've chosen. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks Stephen, you are right the off center composition helped me put focus on the wonderful patterns in the water lily while vibrant colors painted them. Regards +Lalit Link to comment
