movement..

an experiment: I remembered a time where I used to experiment with Silk- colours on photos, and found this somewhere...Colours applyed on paper with a brush. Theese colours had the advantage, that If I put water on them later on, I could remove some of it - Even though the colours went IN the paper as opposed to on top of the paper!also; If I first applyed a dark colour, and then a lighter one (say, yellow) the light colour would replace the darker one!that way I could start by making the picture very dark, and then work my way up to lighter colours...The bad news is, that the colours isn't on the market any more! And I don't think the company knows what great product they stopped!ALL in ALL: NO PS what so ever!

After reading some of your comment of the commerciality of your work I can only say that You are so far out of the realm of ordinary photography that like the masters, may not be appreciated until you are gone and someone finally places your art where it belongs. Bravo! maestro.

I'm not quite sure I like the title here... It's not that I can't feel movement, but just that I feel a lot more than that, and things that I find a lot more interesting than just a movement.

I feel nature is very powerful in this image, due to the colors you chose... It feels like this woman is Eva in the Eden garden...

Maybe a title suggestin the vegetal side or the garden of Eden itself would be good... I don't know. Maybe it's just the way one viewer percieve the picture...

Besides that, this is my favorite in this series. Best regards.

Hi, in my opinion the best source you have in your photography is the continue invention of tecniques...old tecniques are one thing, but exploring, inventing and adapting.....this is you. stupendo!!

So tell me Emil, is this a photograph of a painting....I do not fully grasp the concept here if it is not. It is beautiful, but I would like to know exactly what it is. Thanks!

ooh - it is a photograph. B/W copy - handcolored.

I have found a great kind of colouing.. the silk colouring material..

alas the production of this great dye has stopped... but I still have some...

Great! So then it's a combination of photography and painting. Sounds like you start off with one original photograph (a B&W) then hand color or "paint" that photograph with your special paints (including the ones that are no longer manufactured....don't you hate that) Agfa made a 50 asa print film that had great color saturation and then stopped manufacturing it entirely..... and nobody else makes a 50. Anyway, Then you take another photograph of the finished work....is that correct?? I'm a bit slow with these things! Thanks for taking the time....great work indeed...although I personally like "Anna" the best!!

everything is correct - except the last note..

this IS the original hand coloured picture - not a picture of one.. (if we doesn't count the scan for computer purpose...)

The colors used to paint silk... Thanks for sharing this detail. Is that any special color ? I mean: you said you would soon be running out of it, and that they stopped manufacturing it, but I live here in the paradise of silk. Have you heard of Malaysian "Batik" ? Either the colors used to color these batiks or the ones unes to color thai silk could perhaps be your solution for the future...? Let me know if you think I could help... On the way, if it works for you, I could perhaps try the desired ink myself, and I would have learned something...

Since I have a slight painting background, this intrigues me. I you find a paint source, do let us/me know!!!

Love your work. This one reminds me of Schiele.
