Million dollar expression - yeah, I agree with Alberto's interpretation :). Incredible details. Regards.

Striking portrait of the imprisoned king with look that speaks better than anything. Excellent sharpness and textures with masterful toning and wonderful highlight/shadows effect.Top class non wildlife capture! Congrats, my friend! Max.

I've come back to this photograph a couple time while I let it soak in. I think it's this look that you've captured here, which explains why this great cat is considered kingly. It's so easy to read wisdom and weariness in his eyes, you can easily feel this lion has an old soul that carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. While I love the almost three dimensional depth of this photograph, the subtle palate of colors, it's the eyes that make the shot and it's the eyes that prompted me to rate this photograph so highly. Beautiful work.

Tonal aspect, color balance, great use of darks and the well managed white balance indicates a fantatic photograph as always my dear friend... MJ

Karolos, Both your photography and the sentiment you write under this resigned expression are compelling. The eyes are weary. Zoos seem absolutely absurd. Circuses even worse.
