South Haven Lighthouse

When I shot this it was 3:30am and -3° F (-19° C)! On top of that, it was a 1.5 hour drive round trip... But this shot is something I've thought about for a while so when I thought the skies were going to be clear in South Haven (MI) I packed up my camera and headed out there. I got there just in time because clouds were starting to roll in. This photo was taken looking due west, across Lake Michigan. The small hills in the foreground are actually mounds of ice at the edge of the beach (or I think a little further out). I think they form from a combination of surface ice washing (or pushing) up on shore and the waves crashing over them building up even more ice.Camera: Canon EOS 50DExposure: 25 sec.Aperture: f/8.0Focal Length: 17 mmISO Speed: 800Exposure Bias: 0 EVFlash: Off, Did not fire
