The flower...was shining

Nice cropping, but it doesnt seem sharp enough for a macro shot. Not knowing much about dig cameras I dont know whether you can use a tripod on that model but it may have made a difference. Also a little fill flash or side lighting may have made a bit of a difference.

I don't mind the patchy focus; I think the startling detail and content still come through quite well. I think the most important consideration was getting enough light to convey the colours and almost explosive architecture.
