alight 0 Posted December 30, 2009 there is something attractive about this portrait...the more I look at it the more I like it. The boy is positioned well - he's clear off the tree, and his side-way stance seems to be even inviting to go to the house (if you positioned him more to the right, he would be clashing with the house). His pose is good and the hair in his face gives it a sense of spontaneity. The light sparkles in his eyes add life to his face. Even though he's not smiling, his face looks pleasant...a little bit intense (in a good way). the colour of his shirt goes well with the rest of the photo. The only thing I would adjust is to clone out the bright white rectangle in front of the house - it's distracting...and so is the bright yellow dot on the left. Simple portrait well done.
