Hi John,

I was roaming around photonet and found myself back at this shot. I've seen it many times and fall in love with it again every time. I decided to skim through the POW thread to see what sort of brilliant comment I had left and found nothing! This is the second time this has happened to me, the other instance being on one of Marc's images. Looking at the date that you received your POW I think I may have been out of town, but that's no excuse. My apologies.

My one and only complaint would be the burning on the bottom, but that's already been discussed. And having a feel for the level you work at I'm sure the final print is beautiful.

The composition simply bowls me over, and the texture is fantastic. I didn't read the entire POW thread but I did notice a discussion somewhere in there about the rule of thirds. Your "breaking" of that "rule" here was a brilliant decision.

I know we mostly comment on each others work without rating, but I want this in my gallery of personal favorites so a rating you will get. And again my apology for taking so long to finally realize that I had never commented on this.

Thanks for your kind words Bob.

If we felt obliged to comment on every picture we like I would have made thousands more comments by now. But its sure nice to have ones vision endorsed by a fellow artist whose work we admire. Many times Ive enjoyed your pictures silently so theres no need to apologise!

Cheers,

Hmmm, Version 4 was the first I saw. Hard to pick which one I prefer. Probably go with 4 due to it's perspective. Nice series so far. This is number 2 for me. Love the moss, algea, whatever on the pillars.
