This is the old train depot for trains running through here years

ago. It has since been coverted into a running, biking, blading, etc.

path called the Silver Comet Trail. This old building was preserved

and now rents bikes, roller blades, skates, you name it. Just thought

it was an interesting door to shoot because of all the history

surrounding this area.

Lisa: This looks like a fun place to go and do active outdoor things. Does it get crowded? We love to bicycle but the trails here get crowded at times. No one seems to have any idea of trail manners either.

Id like to see more of the building and less of the blown out area at left just for curiousitys sake. The lens was pointed down slightly here so the right corner is near vertical and the left tilts out a bit more. For some reason the song Green Door keeps running through my mind. It's a short trip admittedly.

Fred, this is a really nice place to go walking, running, riding. It doesn't get overly crowded, but it does stay busy. One thing that you will find is that with the riders, they are very courteous along the trail. Of course, it is patrolled by police on their bikes, and they do not mess around with anyone.

As for the shot itself, I took several different views of it. I really wanted to show the right corner of the building, and how the bricks meet at the corner. Because I still have trouble taking shots right now due to my shoulder surgery, I take what I can get. I do have several shots that show nothing but the door, surrounded by the old brick. Maybe I will post one of them in the folder for you to see without all the extra junk on the left.

These doors have great potential for many interesting shots. The new well-painted doors and the old weathered bricks just cry out for attention. Bur Amy is right. There does have to be something to grab the eye. In this photo, the eye goes to the sign on the door, but there's nothing there. I would like to see the other shots.

I guess you shot that one close to 28 mm on your lens. So the effect of bowing the vertical edges is a little too strong for me.

The saturated green door and its brick surrounding look nice. Since probably you used the 28mm end of your lens and the camera was not level, there are lots of distortion in this shot. Sometimes intentional distortion may be desirable. But in this case the door seems to tilting to the left, which can be corrected with your editing program (but the images does suffer a loss of quality). I also find the hot highlight to the left of the brick wall distraction and taking my attention away from the nice door and the brick wall. I have done some distrotion correction and some cropping of this image for your consideration.
