lalit 0 Posted December 19, 2009 Here the Maratha Swaraj saw its first sunrise, when King Shivaji won the first fort at the tender age of sixteen. This is the view taken from Torana fort , one of the tallest in Sahydrees. The view is of the "Zunjar" Machi(post used to look for the enemy, conveying signals and also to fight) from the top. Early morning when we woke up and saw the pink shades behind Rajgad, we marched towards this place and saw the sun rising. I tried to capture the Machi leading towards the valley on the east, the Rajgad, the valley, the fog and the Sun coming up! Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
cmouli 0 Posted December 19, 2009 This is a gorgeous shot, Lalit. The composition is great as it highlights the difficulty in building this fort and the tough terrain. About 1/3 from the top and slightly towards the right there is a bright spot - not sure what it is but you could try a slight touch-up to reduce the brightness. Wish I can see this in person..thanks much for sharing! Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted December 21, 2009 Excellent composition, and a gorgeous sunrise. I do think, however, that you could work on this a bit more to bring up the darks, they are pretty well blocked up and blotchy, especially on the fort. What about double-processing your raw image for the exposure values and then a careful blend? Happy Holidays to You and Yours! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted January 15, 2010 Lalit... I am glad a photographer of your caliber is seeing the unseen India. Awesome shot...this is perfect in my book... because it has so many elements that are so interesting. You have nailed the exposure here... excellent details in the shadow areas...it is sad that this is under commented and under rated!! regards, Rajeev. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted January 15, 2010 Thanks :-) Ratings etc have been a joke here on PN now a days. Unfortunately the quality has sunk. Locations in India has a special rustic touch, truly! Thanks for the comment. Cheers, +Lalit Link to comment
