Thank you Rafik. I thought I would lose my fingers and toes to frostbite waiting for the sun to come up that morning. I am glad you like it.

Hi Kim

It was frigid indeed. The absolute temp was -11 degrees Fahrenheit when I left my house and the wind chill made it feel ten degrees colder. That's why there was so much mist rising on the lake.

How you been? Long time no chat?

Excellent composition with great colours. Retention of details even in shadow areas is really praiseworthy.

As beautiful as this color rendition is, I think you ought to try a black and white conversion. I think you'll be astounded at the luminosity and tones that you have captured. Well done, Larry! Happy Holidays! Cheers! Chris

Thank you Janegbert.

Thanks Chris. With regards to doing this in black and white, I experimented with converting it to BW before I posted the image and wasn't happy with the results. I often prefer black and white to color, but with this image converting it makes the snow look muddy and the sun seems to overpower the image. At least that was my experience.

Great Colors and contrast. I have to admit I like B&W better but I honestly think the crisp colors make this shot exceptional. I have always enjoyed shooting Lake Loveland myself..

Bravo'

Thank you Shenandoah.  I'm partial to black and white myself.

I gotta tell you, it was one cold day when I took this.  Thought I was going to lose my fingers to frostbite.
