single photos Long and lonesome road

Hello, beginner looking for constructive criticism.

...then you have a great eye for composition. I wonder if the two figures in the photo belong to each other, and is the dog noticing you? These are fun questions to ponder as a viewer.

 

Now, what could be better? Well, I think it's okay to have left the archway in shadow, but for some reason it's not okay to have the distant building washed out (overexposed). Also the archway nicely frames the subjects but it take up too much space--more than half of this photo is shadowy archway. So...get closer and choose an exposure that will leave the distant building and the two figures properly exposed. Good luck!

It's actually just my scanner... in the print the background is actually more detailed and not washed out. thank you for the comment though i appreciate it.

Good picture, but why did you add the frame?

I added the frame because, I photoshopped the frame exactly like how I had framed it on my wall. I just thought it'd be neat for my friends to see it online just like how I can see it in my room.

Is that a dog? haha. Your lucky to have been in Italy and paris. I wish I could take pictures there. This is a very good photo by the way, I can't think of anything that would have made it better....
